Terms of Service — Financial Circle

By creating an account or using Financial Circle ("the App"), you agree to these Terms.

1. What the App is (and is not)

Financial Circle is a coordination and record-keeping tool for informal rotating savings groups ("circles" / tandas / susus / ROSCAs). The App helps members organize schedules, track who has paid, and share payment details.

The App is not a bank, money transmitter, escrow, payment processor, lender, or financial institution. We do not hold, move, escrow, guarantee, or insure any member's money. All payments happen directly between members through third-party services (e.g., Zelle, Cash App). We are not a party to those transfers and are not responsible for them.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 (or the age of majority where you live) and able to form a binding contract. One account per person.

3. Your responsibilities

• Provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure.
• You are solely responsible for your own payments, collections, records, taxes, and any legal or regulatory obligations arising from participating in or organizing a circle.
• Organizers are responsible for the accuracy of contribution/payout tracking and for the payment handles they publish to members.
• Do not use the App for unlawful, fraudulent, or abusive purposes.
• Do not post, upload, or share objectionable content — including harassing, abusive, hateful, defamatory, obscene, or infringing material (for example, in a profile photo or a payment screenshot) — or engage in abusive behavior toward other members.

Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behavior. Financial Circle has no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. You can report a member from their profile inside the app, and you can block a member so that their name and photo are hidden from you. We review reports and will remove offending content and remove or ban the responsible users, typically within 24 hours of a report.

4. No financial or legal advice

The App and its content do not constitute financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Informal savings circles may be regulated or restricted in some jurisdictions; you are responsible for ensuring your participation is legal where you are.

5. Payments between members

Contribution and payout amounts are set by circle members among themselves. Any dispute about whether a payment was sent or received is between the members involved. The "mark as paid," proof-upload, and dispute features are convenience records only and are not proof of, or a guarantee of, any transfer.

6. Price

The App is currently free to use. If we introduce paid features or subscriptions in the future, they will be sold and billed through the Apple App Store (or Google Play), subject to their terms, and any price and trial details will be shown to you before you purchase.

7. Content and licenses

You retain ownership of content you upload (e.g., profile photos, proof images). You grant us a limited license to host and display it to operate the App (including showing it to your circle members). Do not upload content you lack the rights to, or that is unlawful or infringing.

8. Termination

You may stop using the App and request account deletion at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms or to comply with law.

9. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that records are accurate, that payments will occur, or that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any lost money, missed payments, or member disputes. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App will not exceed USD $100 (one hundred U.S. dollars).

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your use of the App, your circles, your payments, or your violation of these Terms.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. You and we agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for any dispute not eligible for small-claims court.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms; material changes will be notified in-app or by email. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
